Nc'nean Quiet Rebels 'Lorna' Organic Single Malt
Introducing our second release from the autumn seasonal series, Quiet Rebels. This series is all about the people who make Nc'Nean what it is, about the small team of eco-conscious drinks fanatics on a mission to bring together a new generation of Scotch drinkers.
We might be small, but our job is mighty, to pioneer sustainable production whilst creating innovative and delicious spirits. This year, the whisky has been chosen by our first ever team member, Lorna. Back in 2015, before the distillery was even built, Lorna left Perthshire and made her way up to the Morvern peninsula alongside her husband John, who had taken over as farm manager here in Drimnin.Â
Lorna kicked off her career with us keeping all our builders and contractors fed and watered whilst the distillery was in the building phase. Once the distillery was built, there was no question what Lorna would tackle next - she wanted to make our whisky. And so, with Gordon passing on his whisky making skills, that's what she has been doing ever since. Lorna is also our most green-fingered distiller, and since day one she has turned our stillhouse into a greenhouse growing tomatoes, courgettes and luffa plants amongst many other things.Â
Lorna likes her whisky on the sweeter side. Notes of banana bread, grapefruit and peach ice cream come together in this delicious bottling. A lovely combination of American whisky casks and Pineau-des-Charentes casks. Â
Tasting notes:Â banana bread, grapefruit and peach ice cream.
