Discarded Banana Peel Rum
The team from Discarded Spirits specialises in using ingredients that would otherwise go to waste to create lip-smacking spirits, like its Banana Peel Rum! It features a base of Caribbean rum which has been matured in whiskey casks, but then it's infused with banana peels for two weeks to impart a whole load of fruity deliciousness. The banana peels come from a flavour house which uses the fruit, but not the peels, so they would normally not have a use. Discarded Spirits has given those peels a use, and the result is marvellous.
- Delicious served neat over ice, mixed with ginger ale, or used in fruity rum-based cocktails like a Daiquiri or Pina Colada.
