2004 was a good value vintage & only a declared vintage in some port houses. Quinta do Silval was one of the stars! The quantity wasn’t very abundant, but the strong character of the premium old vines used for it made it a fantastic year. You will feel the breeze of the year entering your palate on the first sip. Open & drink as it is ready for drinking now

Vinification: Grape selection & fermentation is in stainless steel vats with total de-stemming. It is fortified with regional brandy at 77% of alcohol.

Ageing: Aged for 2 years under controlled temperatures & during this time it softens & matures without losing its freshness. Bottled in 2007

Tasting notes: Very fruity with some herbs & notes of red fruits, plums & dark chocolate. Good volume in the mouth, rich in mature fruits with firm tannins which confers it an excellent complexity
