Cognac Park Borderies Mizunara

A stunning offering from Cognac Park, produced with grapes grown exclusively in the clay soil vineyards of Cognac's tiny Borderies cru. Intriguingly, the spirit has been treated to four years of maturation, including a six-month finishing period in Japanese Mizunara oak casks, a rare variety prized by distillers for the spiced, nutty profile it imparts. We've seen a few Mizunara aged whiskies in our time, but a Cognac, well, this is intriguing!
Aromas of apricot, cedarwood, toffee, clove, plum and coffee fill the nose, complemented by notes of candied orange, hazelnut, ripe figs, coconut, cinnamon and hints of smoke throughout the palate.
