Elegant ruby red colour, with blackberry and a hint of pine and eucalyptus on the nose. Such an interesting and intense combination. Dark fruits, with vanilla, oak and pepper come to the fore in the mouth and give a lovely warmth which lingers in the mouth alongside that gentle mentholated feeling. Full of intense fruit but lovely and dry with nicely integrated tannins – just how I like it.

I loved this wine, both on its own and with a particularly good piece of roast beef, which was a perfect pairing. This dry red wine stood up well to a rich gravy and even to a good dollop of English mustard. A drop or two of the Pyros in the gravy probably helped them work together.

An impressive red wine. Good value as it packs a punch, with fruit and woody flavours and aromas and a dry, warming finish that just makes you want to top up the glass again.
